Our streamlined business model allows us to keep our costs low. We are a virtual law firm, which means that we do not have expensive offices to run. We also make the most of technology to minimise travel, and the time we spend on administrative and repetitive tasks. These savings are passed onto our clients through lower fees.

Fixed fees

In most cases we will agree a fixed fee with our clients for the work we are asked us to do. This ensures that clients know the cost right at the start with no surprises when the bill arrives. It also encourages us to work efficiently because we are not rewarded if we take longer to complete the matter than expected.

We determine our fixed fees partly based on the time we expect it will take to complete the matter. We also consider factors such as the complexity and urgency of the matter. This means that it will probably cost more to perform complex work in a short timeframe. On the other hand, less complex work that we know about further in advance is likely to be cheaper.

Monthly subscription fees

We offer monthly subscription fees for ongoing legal support. Fees depend on how long the support is needed and the required hours per month, but a monthly subscription is the most cost-effective arrangement where ongoing legal support is required.

Hourly rates

We typically work on a fixed-fee basis, but where that is not possible, our fees will be based on the time we spend on a matter. Our hourly rates are based on the guideline figures used by courts to assess court costs, which helps to ensure that are rates are competitive in the legal services market.

Fee estimates

Where the scope of the work is not clear at the start, we will provide you with a written fee estimate based on an assumed scope. If, as the scope becomes clearer, it seems that fees are likely to exceed the estimate, we will let you know and provide an updated fee estimate for the revised scope. We understand that clients do not want to receive unexpectedly high bills.

Terms of engagement

We always provide you with written terms of engagement when you engage us. It sets out details of the work we will do, the fee, and our payment terms.
